Kith Treats & The Infatuation will host a one-night-only Halloween Pop-Up Event at the legendary confectionery to celebrate the debut of the Kith Treats for Margie’s Candies limited-edition menu. Kith Treats for Margie’s Candies ice cream specials will be available for purchase at the event while supplies last. Both specials will be available exclusively at Kith Treats Chicago the following day while supplies last.

Kith Treats honors Margie’s Candies—Chicago’s historic candy shop & ice cream parlor—for its latest installment of The Heritage Program.

To maximize this spotlight on Margie’s Candies, Kith Treats has partnered with The Infatuation, a renowned publisher of honest and trustworthy restaurant reviews and situational dining guides, to amplify the Heritage Program initiative as the honoree advocate.

Each honoree inducted into the program is recognized with specialized programming shared through both entities’ editorial lenses, offering the honorees the opportunity to cater to a wider audience. For each installment of the Heritage Program, Kith Treats develops confections inspired by the honoree’s specialty offerings, which are then made available on Kith Treats’ menu for a limited time.

Margie’s Candies was originally founded in 1921 by Peter George Poulos under the name Security Sweet Shop. In 1933, the business was renamed Margie’s Candies by Poulos’ son, George, in honor of his wife Margie. While her husband served in the military during World War II, Margie herself began running the business and assumed full control after the passing of her husband in 1954. For the next four decades, Margie regularly worked at the restaurant for 15 hours a day, becoming a familiar sight for thousands of visitors from across the country. In 2005, the family opened a second location in the North Center neighborhood, expanding the reach of the original location's charm.

The confectionery serves as Chicago's very own time capsule—a vintage interior embellished with newspaper clippings, stuffed animals and photographs of past owners & notable patrons. Among Margie's trademark features are several Tiffany lamps, a marble soda fountain, and old-fashioned booths with tabletop jukeboxes that contribute to the renowned, nostalgic atmosphere of the restaurant.

 Most popular for their homemade ice cream including specials like the half-gallon World’s Largest Sundae, the Atomic Sundae, and the twenty-five scoop Royal George (named after George Poulos), Margie’s Candies also offers a robust lineup of hand-made candies including chocolate-covered fruits & nuts, caramel apples, marzipan, toffee, and fudge. The legendary Windy City staple is renowned for their menu of classic confections which have remained unchanged for four generations.

Kith Treats has teamed up with Margie’s Candies to create two limited-edition ice cream specials inspired by Margie’s famous Turtles—caramel & pecans hand-dipped in chocolate—and Caramel Apples. Each dessert puts a modern twist on Margie’s most iconic offerings—bridging over 100 years of Margie’s storied history with Kith Treats’ decade-long journey of culinary creativity.
